I have been experiencing a lot of uncomfortable feelings and for the first time....instead of trying to dull them through passive routes of endless scrolling through Facebook, mercari, netflix etc. I am trying to sit in them. I am trying to learn a more productive strategy. To me, these moments of intense anxiety feel like a colicky baby (which I was)....and as such, need to be treated with the care and love that a baby in distress requires....so now I picture myself as a baby in a rocking chair being soothed and it actually works. I am also checking in with my body a lot more to sense if there is any tightness...I tend to tighten my jaw and shoulders....so I am working on releasing tightness. How is everyone else dealing with uncomfortable feelings/body tightness? Any tips?

I think this is absolutely key for all attachment types - to learn not to try to cling to good feelings and run from negative ones - first comes the awareness that many of us here have, but that's not enough - and this is imh where the juicy gains are really to be made and patterns to be melded and reset. Tara Brach explains the nuts and bolts much better than I ever could.
