Wow....I would be a bit upset as well. It is fine that he is focused on his studies, but to say that he is not the cause of your triggering or to tell you you need to work on your career...that is not ok. That would definitely be triggering, especially if you had a parent who “told you” who you were or had expectations of who you should be. I personally would not engage in a friendship again with someone I dated who triggered me. Do you have someone you can talk to about how this is making you feel?
