I really appreciate your honest and brutal feedback lovebunny, it actually made my cheeks hot with embarrassment and I probably needed that. And I agree with everything you said, especially with the low hanging fruit and on the behalf of women everywhere WHY... The only thing I am sure of is that it will not happen again, I am done this time. Especially because I didnt enjoy my time with him, it was not fun or interesting. He is off the pedestal now that I left his city and I made a promise to myself that I will not engage with him again. So my reflections as to whether or not im earning more secure was pointing to my thought process AFTER the encounter, that it didnt make me want to work even harder to get him back. That I could feel the loss of interest. I agree that my behavior before and during was anxious and fawning. But hopefully I learned something from this too and the road ahead will be easier now that he lost his magic in my eyes.

You have nothing to be ashamed of, we've all been there!
Perhaps you getting mixed up with him again was what I like to call an "extinction event." It's like once you've realized you won't get anything from it anymore, the behavior ends.
