Good feelings are free! Go find them. Good luck with your dating. Yes, good feelings are free. People get stroppy when they’re not expressed their way, in their timeframe. They have every right to do that, too. I’m really grateful for all this dialogue. It’s cleared a few things up in my mind, some of which I knew, some I didn’t, and have affected every relationship I’ve had. It only just dawned on me today that I’m also the only male avoidant here.

Honestly...I was trying to think if we had any other avoidant males who actively post and I think you are right....you are the only one. 🤔 I too wish you the best with your dating life.

Curious, what is "second spring"? “Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.”
― Albert Camus That's in response to "20s and fancy free", the 20s being our Spring. As our children mature and become more independent, and our work life stablelize, why not look around with fresh eyes to enjoy a Second Spring with other like-minded-fancy-free adults, sharing good conversation over a good potluck dinner and good wine, go to a thought provoking movie or dance the night away ? We shouldn't wait till we're all arthritic and cranky to do that should we? Life is short, happiness is free, make the most of what we have NOW.
