I am new here, recently finally done myself.
one too many episodes of push-pull, i realized i never want to feel that way again.
i also feel relief. still think of it all more than i would like, but i am being patient and allowing the days to stack up.

and it actually feels like such a relief. Wow.....and I was really rooting for your relationship to succeed....what happened? One of the things making him even more Avoidant was that he'd been self medicating with weed. He is like a different person when he's high, a real Jeckyll and Hyde thing. On weed he becomes almost violent, ultra dismissive and plain scary. Anyway when he came back and said he wanted a relationship he'd quit weed and was his real self. Things were lovely while he was off the weed. Tonight he'd arranged in advance for us to go out. He didn't call to confirm. When I texted him he seemed to have no idea we were meant to be going out. I knew something must be wrong. Yup, he was back on the weed. Sitting there completely wasted. High on weed, he's back to saying we're just friends and that he plans to marry and have kids with somebody else, somebody he's not met yet. |

That stinks...but at least you are getting out and it sounds like you are well on your way to finding a better partner for you. |
