I've been working with a therapist that deals with codependence as well as other stuff for about a year. Since learning about attachment theory I'm looking for and speaking to therapists that specialize in attachment and trauma. What are your thoughts/experiences working with this kind of therapist? I think I'm on the right track but part of me feels like I'm on a never ending cycle of therapy. Thoughts?

There's an idea that says it's not so much the type of therapy that is important, but that you have a good bond with the therapist. I study Gestalt therapy and in that modality it's more about the contact between you and the therapist, than the words or topics. I think any good therapist would have an understanding of attachment theory, and will have helped people deal with trauma. That said, it's not a bad idea to find someone who specializes in an area you want to work on.
