Thought this was interesting on "Complex Grief," might be interest to AP and FA members, as it seems likely that it relates back to insecure attachment: "Ten to 20 percent of bereaved people develop what’s known as complicated grief. In complicated grief, sorrowful feelings don’t gradually get better with time. Instead, they worsen. Complicated grief can contribute to substance abuse, as the person seeks relief from painful thoughts and feelings. But some research suggests that perhaps people with complicated grief are prone to substance abuse because complicated grief is itself a form of addiction." gettingbalance.com/how-unresolved-grief-can-contribute-to-addiction/
