I have recently started taking antidepressants to help deal with some of my feelings post breakup and the things that have come up during my therapy.
Does anyone else have any experience with them? Did they have any impact on your attachment anxiety? Hoping it will help me cope with rumination, anxiety and obsessive thoughts.

I did find them helpful at getting to a next stage. They can reduce some sense of longing, and so free up space to see with new perspective. I'd be interested to hear about your perspective.

hannah99, hang in there but reach out to your doctor if it's getting really bad, ie thoughts of self-harm. I believe it can take 4-8 weeks to get used to these kinds of meds and start to see the benefit. Or, this prescription may not be the right type or dosage for you. There's trial and error, but doesn't mean it won't work for you. Keep an eye on it and keep working with your doctor

Thanks Alexandra, I was told the first two weeks can actually be harder...I'm hoping it's just that!

I have used them in the past when I was involved with a sociopath. What they did for me was get me out of the fog that my racing thoughts created, so I was able to think a bit clearer. I wish I accompanied them with a therapist back then, I hope you are! Edit: and yes give it some time to kick in.
I rushed to reply, apologies!I'm just now reading that you are in therapy, great!

I just need a little push out of the obsessive thoughts.
I'm seeing a therapist and to be honest some of the stuff that has come up has made me feel awful so I think I needed them to help me through that too!

Day 12 and felt a slight change today. Managed to stop myself social media stalking and was able to focus better at work.

I'm now on day 19. Around day 12 I started to feel a shift. I do feel sad and obsess and ruminate a little but it's becoming a smaller and smaller part of my day.
