I usually stay up for weeks, especially during summer or spring. But when winter or autumn begins, I feel like my suicidal tendencies increase a lot. Can you relate to this?

Have you ever looked into seasonal affective disorder? Also increasing your vintamin D with a supplement during the winter can help with it too . Just on a separate unrelated to attachment stuff note.

This sounds like mania and depression, and possibly seasonal affective disorder is a trigger for it. Have you ever looked into getting assessed by a doctor to see if you have a form of bipolar disorder? In the meantime, yes, vitamin D, regular exercise, and a sun lamp can help give you more energy and regulate the depression symptoms, but it won't necessarily make the depression go away completely.

( cat, I have issues with seasonal affective disorder, and it doesn't make me suicidal, but it definitely can be difficult to cope with and those three things I listed help keep me from sleeping too much... but I need to travel to sun periodically for the depression to lift.)

I actually have the opposite - I get spring fatigue, which according to Wikipedia, is pretty normal. I don't get depressed in winter, but i do when spring is coming. Not sure if it matters at all, Monday is also the day I'm most depressed upon waking, filled with insecure thoughts and feelings about my relationship and job (prob because I spent the whole weekend with my partner). Early Spring Mondays have been the worst so far.

I relate to this a lot. I live in a climate where as soon as September hits its quite suddenly overcast, rainy and less light for months on end. I often get suicidal ideation a during the fall and Jan/feb. usually gets better by May.
