Reaction To Romantic Gestures

I don't like the usual flowers, chocolates etc or material gifts much. I think it's cliche and a default position for some men. I will thank them, but I'm definitely not gushing over a material gift. Now, if they give me a ride to the dealer to get my car, that's a romantic gesture
I am not sure if this has anything to do with being avoidant. I just don't like the idea that some men think they can buy you or make you "swoon" with flowers.
