I don’t know what is going on but in the last couple of weeks, I have been hyper focused on my body with a huge dissatisfaction slant. I am going on a 2 week trip soon and what used to be an easy trip to the thrift store has become a mind numbing walk down memory lane….specifically a feeling of not fitting in. I went up a couple of sizes and cannot seem to find anything I think is flattering for my trip…along with overtones of feeling fat and not attractive. In my head all I hear is pull your tummy in. It is just a sucky feeling.

I'm sorry your feeling that way tnr9. Is there anything I could do to help you feel better or listen to you vent?

I'm sorry your feeling that way tnr9 . Is there anything I could do to help you feel better or listen to you vent? I actually feel better having posted this. Last night I went back to the same thrift store and bought some flowy tops and different capris to try. I just need to learn to love my body as it is…which is a bit of an uphill battle with the negative feedback I received from my mom….but I will get there. 🙂

Flowy tops is where it’s at! I still buy flowy tops even when I’m at a normal weight. They make me feel happy and luxurious. I was just going to say, a longer or maxi dress (jersey or linen or polyester) with a Jean jacket or suede jacket and a small cross body bag and very comfortable shoes, is my go to travel outfit. Also get some nice underwear, even though you may soon be thinner, it will still be nice to have for the trip. Throw in a silk scarf somewhere for a good measure and a perfume! And a mani and a pedi before leaving. ❤️

I will look for a dress next visit….because they don’t have fitting rooms in the store and I always end up having some things I have to take back to exchange…but I am getting better. I may go to the one that is a bit further away because they have more selection.

Womens fashion is way out of my skill set tnr9 So I'll leave you to the expertise of the other ladies on this thread. But it does make me smile that you are feeling better for having shared your thoughts with us. I hope the positive feelings continue.

Just coming back in here after a short break….I have several options now…..I decided to go with tops and pants/leggings and I have the freedom to leave some items behind if I want since they were all under $7.00. 🙂

I am sorry and know all too well how this feels. Someone had recommended this book to me and so far I like it.
"The Body Image Workbook" by Thomas S Cash.
I got it on Amazon.
