Research: the possible genetic influence on attachment

This interested me a lot in relation to ADHD pathology.

"Based on these findings, it seems likely that attach­ment anxiety or fearful avoidance (the combination of anxiety and avoidance; Bartholomew & Horowitz, 1991) is associated with lower levels of dopamine D2 receptors. Specifically, higher scores on attachment anx­iety, and possibly also on avoidance when combined with attachment anxiety, are likely to be associated with the presence of one or two copies of the A1 allele on the DRD2 receptor gene."
