Hello I am looking for an exercise that I can do with my client to help him work on his ‘emotional attachment to toxic people’ his words.
I am thinking he is probably an A-P style.
Anyone here can point me to the right direction? Even written articles would don
I’ve done it myself in my own life but didn’t use any exercise or had personal help, so I don’t know how to help him.

I've heard of meditations called "cord cutting" for releasing toxic relationships. I use a meditation app that has some of those kinds of meditations in it. I think a guided meditation might be a good thing to try?

So…it isn’t an exercise…..but..I would suggest working with him on his boundaries….basically physically where he ends. I won’t speak for all APs…but in my SE work…this was the pivotal moment for me. I had numbed my understanding of my physical self in order to “help my mom” as a child….basically I became enmeshed with her and felt responsible for her. Once I physically felt where I ended and another person began, I was able to start taking thing less personally…I was able to see what was mine and what was theirs and I was able to determine which friendships worked and which friendships did not. APs play a role in keeping toxic relationships due to weak boundaries.
