Recently I have become a lot more in tune with my need to feel heard and to also have a clear defined role. My company is trying a new approach where there is a coach assigned to large programs. The goal of the coach is to assist in removing roadblocks etc. From my perspective, this means the coach is brought in when I as the project manager, deem necessary…..however, she has been requesting and actually insisting on being included on meetings and has gone to other team members to have meetings forwarded to her. When I have questioned her need in an online chat to be on all these calls…she reacted by saying it was a crazy question and a waste of her time. Then in a small team call….she again made a very snide remark about having to accept if I tell her no (even mentioning something I had mentioned to our mutual boss in confidence) I had spoken to our mutual boss and he understood where I was coming from and had asked her to back off. Now she is complimenting the other team members. I want to be the bigger person here…..but the passive/aggressive moves are bothering me and having a field day with my avoidant nervous system. Looking for suggestions on how to move forward.
