I found some advice somewhere that suggested Avoidants get a dog, and Anxious get a Cat.... my preference is for dogs that behave like cats :-)

I found some advice somewhere that suggested Avoidants get a dog, and Anxious get a Cat.... my preference is for dogs that behave like cats :-) This is so interesting and funny because my DA always told me I was like Doug, the dog from the movie Up (I’m AP). When Doug meets people he says “I HAVE JUST MET YOU... AND I LOVE YOU!!” And I always told him he was like my cat... all aloof and “I’ll love you when I want.” Haha. What’s even funnier is I’m ALWAYS annoyed with the urgency that my own dog, Ruby, employs when she’s begging for my attention. Especially when I’m, say, petting the cat. She gets in my face, she’s so anxious and like “LOVE ME!! LOVE ME!! LOVE ME!!” Aaaaand that’s me. That’s how I must be to my Avoidant. |
