It seems that I have an uncanny ability to fall madly in AP with a movie character.....this time it was the main male character from Rust and Bone played by Matthias Schoenaerts. If you have ever watched the movie....you would appreciate that the character is completely emotionally unavailable, has huge anger issues, selfish, immature (just to name a few of his traits) and yet....I could feel myself going into "caretaker" mode where all I see is the "potential". Honestly, it was a bit unnerving to see and feel myself circling into an old pattern of falling for someone so utterly incapable of having a relationship (no matter how the movie tried to spin it). Ugh. Anyone else have a character that has activated your AP?

Not exactly, but the love affair in the newest version of "The Thomas Crown Affair" I find very appealing, because I read it as two DA people who actually attempt to make it work.
Let's see, maybe the Idgie character in Fried Green Tomatoes.
It's like oh yeah, nothing hotter than the idea that you could get the DA person to actually want to stick around.

Not exactly, but the love affair in the newest version of "The Thomas Crown Affair" I find very appealing, because I read it as two DA people who actually attempt to make it work. Let's see, maybe the Idgie character in Fried Green Tomatoes. It's like oh yeah, nothing hotter than the idea that you could get the DA person to actually want to stick around. Exactly...or the emotionally unavailable man to decide and declare that he loves you after treating you like you were just a casual hook up. Seriously...if it was as easy as it seems in movies, we should all be living the dream.  |

my guy and i like to hold hands when we go to sleep and that's the first time either of us have done that, and we actually had a fight about how much it meant to us.
that's when we found out neither of us had done that before. we are late forties and mid fifties in age.
I was like "You can't hold my hand when we go to sleep and talk to me the way you just did!!"
and he said
"How dare you criticize me for holding your hand, i don't do that typically and i like it how dare you!"
it was such a weird fight. i wonder if there is anything like that in the movie.

Oh man, I super get this with the guy from Memento. He has phantom ex issues to the extreme, and is incredibly uninterested in anything but finding the guy who killed her. The AP in me wants to rescue him, or for someone to feel that way about me.
