12 healthy choices when you get angry, annoyed, frustrated:
1. I choose to ignore it. It is not worth spending my time on today. I would rather use
my energy on something else.
2. I choose to say "what ever". It's not that important
3. I choose to let go - and accept that others see the world differently than me.
They have a right to. I do not have to agree with everyone.
4. I choose to sleep on it. If I'm still angry / frustrated tomorrow, I'll do something.
5. I feel the anger. I notice that it is out of proportion to what
has happened. I do my inner work before I (maybe / maybe not) react.
6. I choose to communicate (say no and set a limit/boundarie), because this is not fair / okay.
7. I choose to express my frustration or anger in writing
8. I choose to vent my frustration and anger by running, go for a walk, scream in a pillow, etc.
9. I choose to confront (without degrading or shame the other person).
10.I choose to be furious and show my dissatisfaction and indignation by participating in demonstrations and activist resistance. Because this is important! And because it will be morally wrong not to get angry. "When we can not get angry, we have lost our moral compass"
11. I choose to leave - recognizing that it does not do me any good to stay. ("leave the relationship, I go to the bathroom, I go for a walk ect")
12.I choose to report someone to the police because I feel threatened or have been violated.
None of these choices are better than the others. They are equally important and have all
their justification - in different situations.
The first 3 choices are especially good for aggressive anger types.
Remember, it is only human to loose your temper ones in a while. It is okay. The important thing is whether we choose to repair - e.g.
by saying sorry or taking responsibility for our own share.
